My name is Yuka Krantz
I have always appreciated yoga ever since I started practising. The practice of yoga greatly promotes overall self-awareness, which creates an opportunity to connect with myself more deeply.
With my gymnast background as a youth, I immediately liked how yoga developed my attention and focus on body and mind. During my ten months of travel around the world, I first started practising alone following the book ‘Moving into Stillness’ by Eric Schiffmann. I had an insightful experience one morning on my mat that left me determined to investigate this ancient wisdom.
On my return to England, I started studying yoga with various talented teachers in London. When we relocated to Somerset as a family, I found the opportunity to study further with Paul Harvey. He was a student of TKV Desikachar for many years. I took on a threer-year professional yoga teacher and yoga therapy training with Paul in 2013. This qualification holds recognition from the Governing Body of Yoga in England (BWY), the European Union of Yoga Federations (EUFNY), and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), which serves as the UK registration body for yoga therapy. I started teaching as part of the course in 2014.
One of the most valuable abilities I have gained through my practice is the skill of observation. In my 20s, during my office working days, I suffered severely from Sciatica. I diligently practised under the guidance of Sylviane Gianina at the time. One morning practice, I observed the usual pain in my back beginning to shift. From that moment onwards, the persistent pain gradually disappeared.
This made me realise how the quality of my awareness had also changed over time. As such, I deeply value the effectiveness of this simple yet potent practice with body movements and breath.
I would like to underscore that yoga not only enhances our physical well-being but also nurtures our emotional and mental faculties. By accessing the space and quietness within, we find the clarity to see and make good choices in life. Yoga fosters a sense of wholeness within us as individuals.
I am passionate about sharing yoga in a safe way where people can explore and appreciate their abilities. I am currently studying yoga with Leila Smith.
