Golden Years Yoga
Chair-based yoga for seniors
Thursdays 10-11.15am Chewton Mendip Village Hall
The popular chair-based class promotes strength, mobility and balance through fun movements and postures. Expect standing movements and postures to prepare the body for breath work and meditative practice at the end of the class.
Breath is emphasised in this class to maintain mindful practices. There are plenty of opportunities to explore various movements and breathing techniques. Beginners are welcom!
This is what people say
Yoga was a gift to myself when I retired 25 years ago. I was always too busy finding my way through life but knew something was missing. I have been lucky in finding wonderful tutors who have taught me different aspects of yoga; Sue taught me to look after my body through the postures of yoga, Jenni developed my spirituality and Alex, a former national ballet dancer, the beauty and strength of yoga movement.
Now I am so grateful to Yuka for enabling me to continue to grow and nurture my body and soul through her gentle, well-structured programme; one which is caring and sensitive without sacrificing the essentials of yoga practice – stretch, breathe and relax. I look forward each week to our Thursday morning class and always come away feeling uplifted and mentally strong. It has been a gift that continually gives. Thank you, Yuka.

I have had the pleasure of attending Yuka’s yoga classes over many years, (now as a senior Golden Years student)!!
Through her exceptional knowledge of yoga together with her gentle, compassionate and caring teaching style, I find my yoga sessions to be a very positive experience. This helps me to use my practice to learn and understand my body and deepen connections to reflect in natures seasons, enhancing my overall well-being.
Yuka is a teacher for all abilities and always offers and encourages her students to adapt and practice alternatives when covering a temporary loss of ability, (hip/knee replacements etc.) necessary when teacher a senior class!!
Then after several deep breaths, I’m off for a social cup of coffee with fellow students!!
